Darimaker, The Company Behind ‘DoRun DoRun,’ a Family-Workation Based Childcare Welfare Service
Darimaker is a social venture founded on the mission to build a societal structure where work and childcare can coexist harmoniously. Currently, the company operates ‘DoRun DoRun,’ a family-workation based childcare welfare service. CEO Ho-san Kang founded the company in July 2022.

The flagship service, ‘DoRun DoRun,’ is not merely a travel package; it represents a new category of work and welfare infrastructure designed specifically for working parents.

“Many people associate family-inclusive workations with simple travel, but the reality is quite different,” said CEO Ho-san Kang. “When parents travel with children, they are simultaneously pressured by professional responsibilities and childcare duties. In practice, it is nearly impossible to excel at either under conventional settings.”

Darimaker has fundamentally re-engineered this structure. For parents, it provides a co-working environment that facilitates professional immersion and streamlined workflows. For children, it offers programs focused on nature, hands-on experiences, and collaboration led by professional ‘DoRun Teachers.’ After work, the service provides content that allows families to reunite and bond, fostering family restoration. Kang describes this as the “Together, Yet Independent” concept—a structure where families stay together while each member fully executes their respective roles.

Darimaker’s competitive edge lies beyond just ‘creating good programs’. Its core strength is the ability to design an operational structure that resolves complex stakeholder interests.

“Anyone can come up with the idea of a family workation”, Kang noted. “However, building a structure where parents feel safe entrusting their children, where operational quality satisfies corporate standards, and where that same quality is consistently replicated across multiple regions is an entirely different challenge.”

To achieve this, Darimaker has standardized its entire value chain—from teacher training and safety protocols to operational manuals and program design. This enables the company to provide consistent, high-quality services across various regions.

“Another key advantage is our multi-value creation model”, Kang added. “For corporations, we provide both employee welfare and performance enhancement. For public institutions, we serve as a practical model for family-friendly and work-life balance policies. For local regions, we drive economic growth and increase the ‘living population’ (non-resident visitors). The fact that a single service solves the pain points of multiple stakeholders simultaneously is our greatest differentiator.”

Darimaker has collaborated on projects with major organizations including the National Pension Service (NPS), Korea Electrical Safety Corporation (KESCO), Korea Forestry Promotion Institute (KOFPI), and the Korea Forest Welfare Institute (FOWI). On a regional level, the company is expanding its footprint through partnerships with the Namhae County Government, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, and the Gimje City Government. Based on these successful references, the company continues to secure recurring contracts from both corporate and public sectors.

Regarding future goals, Kang stated, “Our objective is not just corporate growth, but creating a society where people do not have to sacrifice opportunities because they are raising children—a society where family is not a career constraint, but the very foundation of a fulfilling life.”
