Soo Hyun Jeong, CEO of Bearable
-Dual-Service Ecosystem: Operates ‘myfolio’ for students and ‘schoolfolio’ for teachers, creating a unified digital environment.
-Bi-directional Integration: Aims to be a “Public Education-Tailored Bi-directional Career Record Platform” where students and teachers collaboratively design and document career paths.
-Context-Aware AI: Leverages a proprietary database of over 100,000 career exploration entries to provide personalized recommendations for books, research topics, and extracurricular activities.
Bearable currently offers a two-pronged service model. ‘myfolio’ is a portfolio platform for middle and high school students that uses AI to support the entire career exploration journey. By simply selecting a desired major, students receive curated recommendations for related readings and research topics for their ‘Subject-specific Detailed Ability and Talent Traits’ (Se-Teuk). The platform’s algorithm has been highly refined through a proprietary database of over 100,000 career data points, evolving into a comprehensive activity history management tool.
‘schoolfolio’ serves as a specialized operational tool for teachers to assist with performance evaluations and school record documentation. Drawing from on-site observations of the administrative burdens teachers face, CEO Jeong designed the system to allow AI to automatically organize student outputs, evaluate assignments, and generate initial drafts for commentary and subject-specific traits.
The core vision of Bearable is the organic connection between myfolio and schoolfolio. It aspires to be a “Public Education-Tailored Bi-directional Career and College Entrance Activity Management Platform”, where the interaction between students and teachers is centralized and streamlined.
The competitive advantage of Bearable’s solutions can be summarized in three key pillars. First is its proprietary data and technical prowess. The company built a database of over 100,000 career exploration entries from scratch, enabling its LLM-based algorithm to provide ‘contextual recommendations’ rather than simple keyword searches. Second is its bi-directional UX. While most market solutions are bifurcated into either student or teacher versions, Bearable’s platforms are designed for seamless mutual connectivity. “I feel the most rewarded when teachers tell me they’ve finally found a tool they can truly trust”, Jeong noted.
“Third, our services are deeply rooted in the context of public education”, Jeong added. “Having spent a decade in the private education sector, I have a profound understanding of the ‘grammar’ of Korea's entrance-oriented education. The fact that our service is designed strictly according to field rules—such as school record recording standards and curriculum alignment—is our greatest differentiator.”
Bearable has defined this year’s keywords as “Expansion” and “Optimization”. Technologically, the company plans to further refine its AI algorithms and significantly expand its content library.
Regarding future objectives, Jeong stated, “Our ultimate goal is to transcend the boundaries between public and private education to establish a digital infrastructure where career and college entrance data are managed systematically and sustainably within the actual educational field.”
